Above is a clip from the Swedish TV series Dårfinkar och Dönickar from 1989, translating into something like Fools and Losers. The acting may have its flaws and you may not understand a single word but this nonetheless is a lovely peek into a late eighties Sweden. The visual impressions offer an intriguing and nostalgic journey into the life of young Simone. The show was directed by Rumle Hammerich and was based on a novel with the same name by Ulf Stark.
Anyone curious to see contemporary Swedish fashion can get their dose at White Box Museum of Art in 798 who hosts the exhibition Exploring a New Identity, showing pieces from the latest collections of a number of Swedish designers. Running until November 7th.
